Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Citrus Park Eyecare the leading provider of vision care products and services in Tampa.

Dr. David Helsing

Dr. Helsing has been practicing optometry in the Tampa Bay area since 1982. He specializes in contact lenses and pre-op and post-op laser evaluations. Dr. Helsing examines all ages from age 5 and up. Dr. Helsing is the owner of Citrus Park Eyecare and believes in preventive care and the importance of annual eye exams. Dr. Helsing has been the primary doctor in Citrus Park Eyecare since January, 2005. Since then, he is the proud owner since June, 2005. Dr. David Helsing graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois in 1982. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in clinical chemistry from the University of South Florida. Dr. Helsing is a board certified Optometric Physician. He is a member of the Hillsborough Optometric Society, the Florida Optometric Society and the American Optometric Society. He is a past president of the Hillsborough Optometric Society.

Dr. Daniel J Guild

Dr. Guild is a full scope Optometric Physician trained in all aspects of optometry, with a special interest in ocular disease. He was born and raised in Tampa and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida. He then earned a second bachelor of Science in Vision Science as well as his doctor of optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in 2018.

Prior to graduating, Dr. Guild completed his externships at the Villages VA Outpatient Clinic, where he had extensive training in the management of ocular disease (with a focus on glaucoma and macular degeneration) as well as surgical pre and post-op evaluations.

Dr. Guild lives in Carrollwood with his wife and daughter.

Michelle Wyeth

Michelle is a Board Certified Optician as well as the office manager. She has been working in the optical field for over 20 years. After completing the Optician Apprentice program, Michelle successfully passed her state boards and has been licensed since May 2000. Michelle has been working in this Citrus Park office since 2001 and has excellent knowledge of all of the latest frame and lens materials and options.

Cathleen Deabreu

Cathleen isĀ from Guyana and has lived in the U.S. since 2003, and has accomplished her life long dream of becoming a U.S. citizen!! Cathleen handles most of the front desk duties. She has been with us since 2007 and is a wonderful addition to our office.

Matt Helsing, O.D.

Matthew D. Helsing, O.D., is an associate Optometrist at Citrus Park Eyecare. He is a full scope optometric physician trained in all areas of glaucoma, pediatric, geriatric, low vision, therapeutic eye care and he specializes in contact lens care.

Dr. Helsing is a native of Tampa. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at the University of Florida in 2005. He then completed his Biomedical Science requirements at the University of South Florida in 2007. He went to Nova Southeastern University to complete his O.D. in Optometry and graduated in 2011.

Dr. Helsing completed his internships at Bay Pines V.A. and Aker-Kasten Eye Center in Boca Raton, Florida. During his time at Nova Southeastern University he served as Treasurer of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and was also included on the Dean’s List.

Dr. Helsing’s professional memberships include the American Optometric Society, Florida Optometric Association, Hillsborough Society of Optometry and National Optometric Practice Management Association.

Dr. Helsing lives in Tampa with his wife Jennifer. During his free time he enjoys golfing, fishing and camping.

Donna Womack

Donna began her optical career in 1986. After completing the Optician Apprenticeship program she became a Florida Licensed Optician in January 1997. She continues to hold her ABO and NCLE certifications. Donna’s favorite part of being an optician is meeting new people and sharing her knowledge of the latest eyewear choices with her patients.

Debbie Guild

Debbie is a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist(COMT) with over 30 years of experience in the eye care field. She works closely with the doctors doing specialty and preliminary testing as well as gathering important information to ensure you receive the most thorough eye exam.

Debbie is married with 3 grown children and one grandchild.
